What to Expect When You Need Notary Public Services
Notarization is the process of authenticating a signature by performing the process in front of a Notary Public. Most legal documents, including wills, trusts, POAs, and more, require a witnessed signature to validate the identities of the signing parties and to verify that the signers are under no duress at the time of providing their signatures. Tax Service Center provides notary services for all prepared documents. Before you come in, please ensure of the following:
- All parties must be signing willingly. A Notary will look for signs of coercion and can refuse services if evidence of intimidation are witnessed.
- All parties must be coherent, and services can be refused if any party is intoxicated, medicated, or unable to understand at the time of signing.
- Make sure your document is unsigned at the time of your visit. You must be in the presence of the Notary before the document is signed.
- Bring valid picture identification, such as a drivers license, state ID, or passport, to authenticate your identity.
